Family accounts allow a customer to more easily manage scheduling and billing for multiple accounts. One family login can be used to manage these functions on behalf of multiple child accounts.

Each child account may still maintain an individual login allowing the ability to schedule and receive notifications for the specific account.

Create a family account

To create a family account:

  1. In the Users menu, click Customers.
  2. Click Add Family.
  3. For the Name option, enter a name for the family.
  4. For the Members option, select any existing accounts to be added as family members. Additional accounts may be added later if needed.
  5. For the Email Address option, enter an email address or leave the field blank. If filled out, an link will be emailed allowing the recipient to create a password for the account and log in.
  6. Click Add Family.

Family account vs. child accounts

There are several differences between which features family accounts and child accounts may access.

Family accounts may have a family login as well as individual logins for each child account.

Scheduling

The family account can book and cancel on the calendar on behalf of any family member. Any child accounts may only schedule for their own account.

Notifications

  • Scheduling - reminders and alerts about scheduling are sent to both the family account and the child account.
  • Billing - sent only to the family account.
  • Announcements - sent to the family account if sent directly, and sent to the child and the family if sent to the child.

Billing

All billing, including store purchases, invoice payments, payment reminders, and saving a credit card, is handled through the family account. Child accounts may not access any of these billing functions, even for their own account; they must be accessed through the family account.

Sales transactions and saved credit cards that exist on an individual account are still accessible after adding the account to a family. They may be modified or deleted, although no new transactions or cards may be added.

Permissions and groups

Family accounts may not be added directly to permissions lists and groups. Child accounts should be specified individually.
