Package types represent the packages available to be purchased. A package type includes a name, a duration in weeks or months, and a configuration of included lessons and classes.

When adding a package to a customer account, you will select a specific package type. Package types are also used to create store listings.

Step 1 - Open the Package Types page

  1. Go to Site Settings, and then click Package Types.
  2. Click Add Package Type.

Step 2 - Select options

In the Settings area, select the following options.

  • Name - This is displayed to staff adding the package, and to students viewing the store. The name cannot be changed once the package type is billed at least once, in order to preserve historical accuracy of past packages. If you’d like to change the name later, disable this package type and create a new one.
  • Duration - This is the number of weeks or months for which the package is valid. Select one of the following options:
    • Specific duration - The package is valid for a defined number of weeks or months.
    • Forever - The package is valid indefinitely.
  • Apply at Time of Service - This option is only shown if Duration is set to Forever. If selected, credits in this package will be applied at time of service instead of immediately. For more information, see Example package types.

Step 3 - Add package contents

In the Contents area, configure the lesson credits, class credits, and membership included in the package. Click the Add Lessons, Add classes, and Add membership to add items to the package contents. For more information about this option, please see Example package types.

Add lesson credits

For each group of lesson credits you’d like to add to the package, follow these steps below.

  1. Click Add Lessons.
  2. Select a Lesson Types option:
    • All types - Allow the credit to be valid for all possible lesson types.
    • Only specific types - Restrict the credits to one or more specific lesson types. Check the boxes next to the lesson types you’d like to be valid. If more than one box is selected, then the credit will be valid for any of the selected types.
  3. In Quantity, select how many credits the package will contain.
  4. In Range, select whether the credits are valid on a weekly basis, a monthly basis, or the entire package duration.
  5. Click Add to Package.

Add class credits

  1. Click Add Classes.
  2. Follow a similar process as for lesson credits above.

Add membership

Note

Membership can only be added to packages with a Duration option of Specific: Months. Packages with a duration of Forever or Specific: Weeks cannot contain membership. This is because memberships are only valid on a monthly basis.

  1. Click Add Membership.
  2. In Membership Type, select the membership type to be included in the package.

Step 4 - Select credit extensions

In the Credit Extensions area, select whether you’d like the package to automatically extend any unused lesson or class credits. Extensions are granted as soon as the credit expires. Up to 3 lessons and classes can be extended for up to 90 days.

Step 5 - Select options

In the Options area, select the following:

  • Require Specific Start Date - If you know in advance that you will only be using this package type for a specific date, you can set the option here to lock the package type to that date.
  • Hide Dates - Optionally hide the dates of specific packages from the customer interfaces.

Step 6 - Save

Click Add Package Type.

Disable or delete

If you are no longer using a package type for billing, then you can disable or delete it.

  • Disabling the package type will hide it from all new billing operations. New packages cannot be added, and store listings cannot be created. Existing packages can still be billed, however automatic invoice pricing will be removed, and prices will have to be entered manually.
  • Deleting the package type will remove it permanently. This option is not available if the package type is used by any packages, invoices, or store listings.

To disable or delete a package type:

  1. From the Package Types page, click **Edit **next to the package type.
  2. Click Disable or Delete at the bottom of the page.
  3. Click either Disable Package Type or Delete Package Type.
