Class types represent the different kinds of classes on the schedule. Each scheduled class will be categorized with a specific class type.
You should create one class type for each of the classes you offer. For example, you might create a “Beginner” class and an “Advanced” class.
Create a class type
- In the top right corner, click Site Settings.
- Click Class Types.
- Click Add Class Type to create a new class type, or click Edit next to an existing class type. In this example, we’ll add a new class type.
- In the Settings section, select options for the new class type.
- Name - This is displayed to customers and staff when scheduling, and to staff when billing. The name cannot be changed once the class type is scheduled at least once, in order to preserve historical accuracy of past classes. If you’d like to change the name later, disable this class type and create a new one.
- Description - This is displayed to customers when signing up for the class.
- Duration - This is the number of minutes that classes are scheduled for. For classes longer than an hour, enter a number greater than 60. For example, if this class lasts an hour and a half, enter 90. The duration cannot be changed once the class type is scheduled at least once. If you’d like to change the duration later, disable this class type and create a new one.
- Open Attendance - If enabled, customers can see who else is signed up for the class.
- Maximum Size - The total number of attendees allow in classes of this type. If you change this option later, the changes will only be applied to new classes; existing scheduled classes will not be affected. This option only affects customers signing up for classes. Staff may always add any student to a class attendance roster regardless of the roster size.
- In the Resources section, select whether this class type uses a resource when scheduled.
- Click Add Class Type.

Disable or delete
If you are no longer using a class type for scheduling or billing, then you can disable or delete it.
Disabling the class type will hide it from all new scheduling and billing operations. New classes cannot be added to the schedule. Existing classes can still be billed, however automatic invoice pricing will be removed, and prices will have to be entered manually.
Deleting the class type will remove it permanently. This option is not available if the class type is used by any classes, invoices, or package types.
Disable or delete a class type
- From the Class Types page, click Edit next to the class type.
- Click Disable or Delete at the bottom of the page.
- Click either Disable Class Type or Delete Class Type.
